A cease and desist letter is a letter that puts a person/business on notice that they are engaging in illegal activity. The letter lets the person/business that you will pursue legal action if the illegal activity does not cease. The letter is not legally binding and serves as an option prior to a lawsuit or seeking actual legal recourses.
